Encouraged with the results and in order to crush maximum cane in the peak recovery season, in the year 2001 we thought of expanding our sugar factory capacity from 7500 TCD to 10,000 TCD by adding a larger size milling tandem (42” X 84”) and a 80 TPH 62 kg/cm2 4800C boiler and one more 22.8 MW Shin Nippon back pressure turbine. Currently, we are generating 44 MW power and giving 28 MW to KPTCL.

This is the single largest cogeneration plant in all of India using non conventional energy sources i.e. bagasse and trash. Our group has now started consulting to sugar industries in India as well as in overseas through our group company - Ugar Power Generation & Consultancy Services Ltd (UPGCSL). The focus of this new outfit revolves around consulting on new congeneration projects, equipment procurement, erection & implementation right up to final commissioning in the cogeneration sector.

Lots of steps have also been taken by the organization to ensure maximum conservation of energy.
