GENERAL PROCESS DESCRIPTION OF THE EVAPORATING PLANT: |
The Feed (effluent after biomethanation) is received in a level controlled balance tank and is passed through pre-heaters, calendrias and vapour separators of various effects. The evaporation takes place under vacuum, which is maintained mainly by the vacuum system. Steam is supplied as a heating medium to the high heater and through the thermal vapour recompression (TVR) to the first effect jacket. The concentrated product at the desired concentration is continuously taken out from the plant. The clear condensate water can be recycled in the process for other use. In this process, 4% solids are concentrated upto 40% with balance 60% moisture.

General Process Description of the Spray Drying Plant: |
The concentrate is sprayed through the spray nozzle with the help of a high pressure pump into the drying chamber. The hot air is supplied into the drying chamber. The droplets of feed are atomized with the help of high-pressure nozzle/hot air. The resultant powder is collected in bags/Tins. In this process, 40% solids are concentrated upto 95% with balance 5% moisture.
This powder has got calorific value of 3200 kcal/kg. It can be burnt in the boiler very easily for producing steam to utilize for the evaporating plant. Thus the plant can become self dependent for steam. This has been confirmed by the boiler manufacturers too.
