The Ugar Sugar Works Ltd is the flagship organization of the Shirgaokar Group of Companies. The company has been involved in the manufacture of white crystal sugar for over 65 years. Currently, at our Ugar and Jewargi plants, we are crushing a total of 15,000 tcd of sugarcane daily. After our expansion plans are realized, the Ugar Sugar Works will have a total crushing capacity of 17,000 tcd in the season 2011-12.

The Ugar Sugar Works Ltd., has been involved in a unique one of its kind project of manufacturing of sugar in the form of sugar ships. This hi-tech unit has been accredited with ISO 22000, which is a universally accepted food standard world wide. This product has been launched in India & the Middle East under brand name ‘filmi shakkar’. Our group has also diversified into the business of packaging through our new company – Ugar Quality Packaging, located at Ratnagiri, Maharashtra.
